Cliff Click in "A JVM Does What?"
Cliff Click gave a very good talk at Google last week. For your viewing enjoyment:
Perhaps the inventors of _java_ byte code were in the audience! But, byte code was used in UCSD p-system by well before 1982. And Mesa and Buttte (xerox PARC) had byte codes by then, too. I would be very surprised if the original inventors of byte code were in the audience at Google.

ReplyDeleteYes - he was referring to Java bytecode in the talk, so I thought it was relatively implicit in what I was saying.
